It’s been 12 years since we’ve been to the Redwoods, Gracie was only a year old and I didn’t have any grey hairs. It was just as I remembered it, dreamy, breathtaking, and pretty amazing! We really didn’t have a plan, and our cell phones didn’t have any service so we decided to get lost and see what happened.
We managed to find a ranger station and they provided us with these things called maps…they are made of paper and had interesting drawings on them. I wasn’t sure how the kids were going to feel about the Redwoods, I was expecting Zac to tell me, “They were just a bunch of old trees” but instead they all turned into little lost boys and ran around the entire hike with excitement. At one point while Nikki was driving I happened to look up from my laptop and notice a fog rolling in from the ocean into some redwoods. It was straight out of a movie set. I must have shot a gig’s worth of photos before I realized we had pulled over for more than the 5 minutes I had promised. Like every National Park we visit we wish we had more time to explore.
