It’s bittersweet to see the Special Olympics come to a close tonight. It’s been fun watching the videos and images from the games. Before Wil was born we never followed the games and knew little about them. One of our favorite moments from the games was seeing the post-game dance with the team from Peru and Botswana. Peru had just beaten Botswana but it didn’t matter, they were both so happy to be together and having fun. See the post here.
On our Wil Can Fly tour, we had the pleasure of meeting some of the great people who played a major part in putting the games together. They treated us like rock stars and gave us VIP treatment in their office. Although we weren’t able to make it to the actual games we felt somewhat connected to games through this fun experience.
