Leidy starts her first day of 9th grade next week!
We were originally going to have her attend high school at the start of the school year but God had other plans and we felt impressed to homeschool her for the first trimester.

I can’t imagine how hard it must be to learn to give into trust after you have told yourself for most of your life to not trust anyone.

These last three months have been a little challenging as we all adjust and learn coping tools and methods for understanding how a family dynamic works.

At the start of the school year we were’nt 100% sure why God wanted us to homeschool Leidy, but now we know that she needed more time for us to remind her every day that she’s safe, loved, and right where she belongs.

💔 Today, we said goodbye to our beloved family

💔 Today, we said goodbye to our beloved family dog, Annie, who brought us joy for thirteen wonderful years. Annie was hugged and loved by her biggest fans at home while she passed. We have so many fond memories with this furry member of our family – she was such a patient and fun-loving dog, and we miss her so much already.

Wil turned 11 today and he told us that for his birthday he wanted to be the first person with Down syndrome in space. We might need a little more time to help him fullfill his wish but I did manage to get him on the cover of Life magazine.

The only thing this kid loves more than his birthday is inviting random people he meets at the store to his birthday. party. If you got an invite to his birthday party this year give yourself a pat on the back because you are Wil approved.

At one point we thought Jacee saw us and we blew our cover 😅
The planning behind this was hilarious and fun. We did a mock run through the morning of, in the boat in our backyard, before we loaded the boat in his truck
- I have never seen Zac so nervous but he did great.

It’s a incredible feeling to see your child take such a big step surrounded by love and hope. we feel so lucky to have been part of it, even from behind the camera.

Today starts day 1 of homeschool for this crew wit

Today starts day 1 of homeschool for this crew with their cute main teacher in the middle of it smiling through the organized chaos of the first day.
Like any school, the first day is always a little choppy as we discover our flow.
The first week always about seeing what works and what doesn’t and adjusting to how each of our kids are grasping the topics.
We are using some tutors this year both online and in person which we are excited about.
We originally thought we would have Leidy attend public school but felt immpreased to homeschool her a month before school started and thankfully found a great tutor to help teach her English amd Math.

IT’S OFFICIAL! 💍 Zaccardi surprised Jacee in the cutest way and Nikki and I got to secretly video the whole thing. Nikki and I had to tromp through some thorny bushes and tuck and roll a few times when Jacee looked our way but we got the video and I will post it tomorrow!

Seeing them bond, one sparkle at a time, fills my heart beyond words. My girls have had some expected challenges due to the language barrier but their relationship grows stronger every day.
Leidy’s English is getting so good! We rarely use a translator now.
Our family has paused on learning Spanish while we continue to help Leidy learn but we plan on jumping back in this winter.
All of my kids have shown incredible patience during this chapter of their lives and I am so very proud of each of them.

Today we celebrate birthdays for mini me and my number one girl!!
Nikki loves her birthday because it means there is on 118 day until christmas 😂 Our little elf Rocko is 9 now!! He told me loves Christmas almost as much mom, has a big imagination and an even bigger heart for his older brother Wil.
I’m a lucky man to have these two in my life.
