It’s hard to believe this beautiful day has finally come. Rockwell has now joined our little team! It seems like we were just here with William – funny thing is we unintentionally ended up in the same room where Wil was born. I’m sitting here trying to take it all in knowing that it is possibly the last time I will experience one of my own children being born – I don’t feel that old.
You should have seen us roll up to the hospital, Nikki quickly pointed out that I had more luggage than her. I seriously get anxiety if I don’t have a camera with me and since it was the birth of one of my littles it was going to be a production. I packed the basic kit, three cameras, tripod, Go-pro, laptop, hard drive and extra cards. Nikki told me I had to leave the drone at home even though I had a great idea for it.
After 8 hours of labor Rockwell entered the world with a very soft hello. At first I was worried because at one point during labor he was under stress and Nikki had to go on oxygen. But soon the crying came as they took him from his mamma to get him cleaned up for his birthday party. As they cleaned him his hair color became more apparent. Nikki was sure we would be having a dark-haired Italian like Zac so I had to smile as Rock’s red hair burned like fire in the basque of the lights. redhead’s unite!
When Nikki’s sister brought our kids to the hospital to see Rock for the first time Ali and Nik immediately turned into Mother Hen and Papa Bear. They wouldn’t let Rock out of their site and kept probing the nurse with questions related to her interactions with him. Gracie and Zac did their swooning while William couldn’t decide what to think of the grunting half-pint.
So many new things to look forward to as Rock starts his life. He is perfect in every way and we thank our Father in Heaven for this new blessing in our life.
Oh, how we love you little Rocko.
